Obama Reaching Out to Hip-Hop Fans

Vibe has endorsed a presidential candidate for the first time in its 15-year history and it is, of course, Barack Obama. Vibe’s November issue will feature a letter from Obama to potential voters urging them to register if they haven’t before and get out the vote on election day.
On Saturday, Jay-Z will perform a free concert in Detroit where concert-goers will be urged to register and vote for Obama. Monday is the deadline to register for the presidential election in Michigan, a key battleground state that is leaning toward, but not certain for, Obama. Jay-Z has been a vocal supporter of Obama, speaking in his favor at concerts and designing a t-shirt for the campaign.
For those in the Detroit area, the concert will start at 8:30 PM at Cobo Hall
