Guns ‘N Roses “Chinese Democracy” Leaked
By Brian SpiegelHELL FREEZES OVER…MORE SO AT LEAST… When it was announced earlier this month that Guns ‘N Roses oft-oft-delayed record “Chinese Democracy” would finally hit stores on November 23rd as a Best Buy exclusive, fan reaction ranged from “Oh my god, glorious day!” to “What’s you talking about, Axl!” to ”Yeah, I’ll believe it when i see it”. As most fans still believe that Axl will yank this record away from stores just days before its release (or buy up every copy as Harvey Korman and Coloris Leachmenonce attempted to do with papers in “High Anxiety“), the band (or Axl and friends) have taken the next logical step to releasing a record and has released the albums title track as their first official single is nine years.
The single was released today via download to radio at 2am (those rock radio types, never sleeping). As of 8 am this morning the song was being played on KROQ-FM in Los Angeles and, I assume, other stations across the country. And while hopes are high in corporate music land, its going to be interesting to see how the album will sell in this “downloading” climate. Part of me hopes that Axl gets whats coming to him and he doesn’t make a cent off of jerking his fans around for 15 years, but I’m sure with Best Buy ordering an initial shipment of 3 million copies, this album is going to be huge.
We;d give you the links to listen but everytime we put it up they take it down. We’ll do our best to get it to you soon! You can here samples of his new songs on MySpace until then!
