Dr. Pepper to Deliver on Guns N’ Roses Promise

Back in March, the folks over at Dr. Pepper issued a challenge to Guns N’ Roses. They said that they would give everyone in America a free Dr. Pepper if the the band’s fabled album Chinese Democracy was released before the end of 2008.

Now that the album is due out exclusively at Best Buy on November 23, Dr. Pepper is making good on the promise. In a statement to Billboard, Dr. Pepper VP of marketing Tony Jacobs said “We never though this day would come…but now that it’s here all we can say is: The Dr Pepper’s on us.”

To get your free Dr. Pepper, you will have to go to the Dr. Pepper’s website on November 23 and print out a coupon for a free 20 oz. bottle. It will be redeemable anywhere Dr. Pepper is sold. Here’s the catch. The coupon will only be available for one day, so on November 24, you are out of luck. Once you have the coupon, it will be good through February 28, 2009.

Hey, I’m more excited about the free Dr. Pepper than I am about the album.
