Vampire Weekend Disappoints Fans
By Seraphina L.When the Vampire Weekend surfaced out of nowhere with their ska beats referencing Lil’ Jon and Wes Anderson like music videos, they seemed to be the new saviors for the indie pop-punk genre. They were even the first band without a label to make the cover of Spin Magazine and their fan base only grew after major festival appearances such as Coachella.
However, after being gone on a Europe tour for a good part of this year, the band has only decided to play shows in 5 select cities when they return in December. Why? Who knows. Maybe the critical acclaim has gone to their heads or maybe there really is a legitimate reason for not seeing all their US fans again. If you’re in, say, Washington D.C. or New York (of course), congrats. As for the rest of you, sorry. See if any of the cities below are near you.
