Queen to Re-Release Entire Catalog on Vinyl
Queen is re-releasing their entire catalog on vinyl in the US over the next two years. Hollywood Records will release everything from Queen’s 1973 self-titled debut to the brand new album The Cosmos Rocks which features Paul Rogers on vocals.
The vinyl releases started yesterday and will be staggered, with a new set of albums coming out every six months. One might think that releasing the albums in chronological order would makes sense. Hollywood Records thinks differently.
The first albums that were re-released are A Night At the Opera, A Day At the Races, Sheer Heart Attack, Queen and The Cosmos Rocks. This set was released yesterday, October 28.
The second set will be out in spring of 2009 and will include a gold-foil stamped version of Queen, Flash Gordon, News of the New World, A Kind of Magic and Innuendo.
In other Queen news, their concert film Let the Cosmos Rock will be shown on 425 theatres across the US on November 6. It’s a one-night-only event, so if you want to see the film on the big scree, this is your only chance.
