NEWS: Jason Bentley Will Be KCRW’s New Music Director

Longtime DJ Jason Bentley will take over the position as music director of KCRW and will host “Morning Becomes Eclectic” starting on December 1. KCRW announced last week that Nic Harcourt would step down as music director and “MBE” host.

Bentley has a long history with KCRW. In 1988, he was a phone volunteer in the station’s main office and after college in 1992, was recruited as a DJ. He currently hosts the show “Metropolis.”

His music experience extends outside the world of radio. He was a music supervisor for “The Matrix” film series and was a A&R executive for Madonna’s Maverick label. He has also worked as a producer and remix artist.

Bentley is a self-described “champion of dance and electronic music,” so it will be interesting to see how he what changes he will bring to “Morning Becomes Eclectic.”
