VIDEO: Paul Simon Stops by the Colbert Report

Stephen Colbert just keeps rolling out musical heavyweights on “The Colbert Report.” Last night, Paul Simon stopped by to chat about his new book Lyrics 1964-2008.

Colbert being his usual self, put Simon through the ringer during the interview. He tested Simon’s rhyming skills, questioned the kinky lyrics of “Cecelia” and asked what Julio was really up to in “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard.”

Paul Simon also performed the classic song “American Tune” from his 1973 album There Goes Rhymin’ Simon. Watch the interview and performance after the break thanks to the good folks at Colbert Nation.
