The beautifully shot, guerrilla-style band performances from La Blogotheque known as “Take-Away Shows” will make the leap from the web to television in December. The show will premiere on Current TV on December 9. Check your local listings for the time.

“Take-Away Shows” feature bands typically performing songs busking-style in assorted places. They’ve shot performances in a freight elevator, a candy shop and inside an old water tower among other absurd places. Most of the performances are shot in France where the site is based.

The first televised episode will feature Fleet Foxes and Emily Jane White. The second week will feature The Dodos and Grand Archives. Check out a preview of the Fleet Foxes appearance after the break.

Come December, there will actually be quality music programming on television, though it will be on “premium” channels. Elvis Costello’s new show will also premiere in December on the Sundance Channel. The holidays will come early for discriminating music fans.
