To celebrate the 90th birthday of choreographer Merce Cunningham, Sonic Youth and John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin will be performing together live for a multimedia composition from director Takehisa Kosugi, which will be taken on stage in April, by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company.

In the past, the Company has performed with music composed and played by Sigur Rós and Radiohead. Merce Cunningham is considered one of the foremost choreographers alive – he was a collaborator and lifetime companion of composer John Cage, who died in 1992. The show debuts on April 16th at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, tickets are for sale here.
