VIDEO: Lilly Allen’s New Fear Video

Lilly Allen doesn’t really fit into any category. She sounds very poppy and yet has that sarcastic edge that doesn’t allow her to be accepted or really understood by teen-y boopers. She’s obviously mocking the Brit-Brit’s of the world, and yet she kind of sounds like them. She’s the un-Brit. The lyrics to this song (minus the chorus which I’m not digging) are great. They’re simple but definitely make a point. She’s definitely walking that Gwen Stefani line…

I remember a time before anyone even knew she was over here in the states but now I miss rude, blunt and crass Lily Allen who wore dresses with high tops and dated 1/2 of The Chemical Brothers. This album sounds like it still has her unique rhythm but it’s going a little toward a Nicole Atkins kind of pop (Maybe Tonight).
