- The Aquabats | Friday, December 12 | 7:00 pm | $18 | Henry Fonda Music Box Theatre, Los Angeles, CA – Map | The Aquabats[!] come to save Los Angeles and therefore the world via a performance so intimidating and combative that not even The Floating Eye of Death would dare interrupt. Click here for tickets.
- Nine Inch Nails | Friday, December 12 | 7:00 pm | $39.50-$49.50 | Arco Arena, San Francisco, CA – Map | Ah, Nine Inch Nails – they are too good for any description anyone could come with – except for the simplistic “effing’ delicious” and “mad fantastic”. Just the mention of them playing live is bound to result in the following query: “Recession? What recession?” Click here for tickets.
- Mercury Morning | Saturday, December 13 | 8:00 pm | $10 | Arlene’s Grocery, New York, NY – Map | Alt rock band Mercury Morning will be crossing the Jersey border to bring their diverse sound to the city, at a venue known to showcase any and all talent new and original. The Aye Ayes, Left Me Bashful, and Windsor Park Walker will play throughout the evening. For more info, call (212) 358-1633.
- Mike Ness | Saturday, December 13 | 8:00 pm | $30 | El Rey Theatre, Los Angeles, CA – Map | Former frontman of punk rock band Social Distortion Mike Ness continues touring the nation, infusing bluegrass, country, and rockabilly into an already fan-appreciated, experience-perfected style. - The Ting Tings with Hottub | Saturday December 13 | 9:00 pm | $17 | Popscene, San Francisco, CA – Map | The popularity of the Ting Tings has resulted in advance tickets selling like hotcakes, and therefore selling out – but if you’re at the doors at 9pm you might be able to snag one of the few remaining tickets! It’s like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, only without the lifetime supply of chocolate… For more info, contact popsceneSF@gmail.com.
- Katsumoto | Sunday, December 14 | 7:00 pm | $8-$10 | The Knitting Factory, Los Angeles, CA – Map | Katsumoto – the Japanese word for “victorious” – already has a sizeable fan following; just take a gander at their Myspace page. With harder rock influences efficient for much head-banging, it’d be interesting to see how they take on the SoCal venue. The Messenger, White Silence, Until the Fall, and Allura will also take to the front stage throughout the evening. Click here for tickets.
- Life of Agony | Sunday, December 14 | 8:00 pm | $29.50 | The Blender Theatre at Gramercy, New York, NY – Map | Formerly-underground grunge rock band Life of Agony take a break from individual side projects to rock out onstage, by popular demand. Click here for tickets.
