Ingrid Michaelson is yet another pop artist/singer songwriter from New York making music with her voice and a guitar.  Yet, regardless of the fact that she stems from a location spitting forth a deluge of new artists everyday in a genre that anyone who knows a few chord progressions thinks they can join, Ingrid Michaelson proves that it takes so much more than location and a guitar pick to be a true musician: it takes a hefty dollop of talent. With a voice as crystal clear as her skin and an awkwardness that proves more endearing than off-putting Michaelson is a singer-songwriter who catches you in her web of intricate lyrics and catchy melodies. With her new album, “Be OK” Michaelson has created a strong enough buzz amongst critics to prove her worth without the publicity overkill making so many artists instantly passé.
