Round-Up Of Recently Announced Tours: Von Bondies, The Walkman…

It’s been a big couple of days for tour announcements, with quite a few of our favorites announcing their travel plans for early 2009. Here’s a quick round-up of some of the tour news we’ve caught wind of this week. Know about a tour that’s not mentioned? Feel free to add it in the comments below!
- The Von Bondies will be touring throughout February in honor of their February 3rd release of “Love, Hate and then there’s you.” The tour is put on by MySpace and includes a special guest appearance by Nico Vega. The album is already getting some pretty good preliminary reviews and the show should be pretty spectacular. Check out a list of all the dates here.
- Artist Vs. Poet has actually announced two tours for the new year. The group will go on a short west coast tour with Ultraviolet and Kill Paradise starting January 5th and will then travel with Houston Calls and Valencia from January 29th through February 5th. Check out all the dates here.
- The Walkman have announced a brief east coast tour for the month of January. The five show tour will take place from San Diego to Seattle and will feature the band Belly Up as a supporting act. The Walkman have gotten a lot of press this year bring listed as one of NPR World CafĂ©’s Top 10 albums of the year and making Pitchforks Top 10 performances of the year. - Lenka will be kicking off their January tour in style with an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in January 8th. The groups’ track “Their debut album reached the iTunes Top 10 earlier this year just days after it was released. After their television performance the group will tour through at least February 5th although they expect to release more dates soon. Check out their dates here.
- Ra Ra Riot have confirmed dates from January 22nd to March 26th of 2009. The group made Rolling Stone’s Best of 2008 list this year as well as a bunch of NPR Listeners’ Bes Lists. Check out all their dates here.
