Phantom Planet has announced that they will be playing their last show ever December 12th at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. The group performed this first live all ages show in the same place in 1994.
In their 15 years together the group released four albums: Raise The Dead, The Guest, Phantom Planet is Missing, and Phantom Planet.

European pop singer, Annie has announced her departure from Island Records. The singer announced the end of their partnership in a post on her MySpace page where she indicated a huge part of her leaving the label had to do with it’s reluctance to give her newest album “Don’t Stop” an official release date.

Ten years after they officially said goodbye, the Jesus Lizard has announced plans to get back together, performing several shows next year. The bands so called “fleeting reunion” will feature all the original members of the group: David Wm. Sims, Duane Denison, David Yow, and Mac McNeilly.
So far the only announced performance is at the All Tomorrow’s Parties’ “The Fans Strike Back” festival in England next May, Pitchfork is reporting however that the group will also play a yet-to-be-announced performance in Chicago as well in November.

Jason Isbell, former guitarist for the Drive-By-Truckers is set to release a new album with his band the 400 Unit in February of next year. The album, which will appropriately be called “Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit” is a followup to Isbell’s solo release last year Sirens of the Ditch.
The 400 Unit is currently Derry deBorja on guitar, Browan Lollar of guitar, Matt Dillon on drums, and Jimbo Hart on bass.

Radiohead wasn’t the only band getting fans to make videos for them. Three months ago, Nada Surf also asked fans to participate in a video contest via youtube. Like Radiohead, Nada Surf set no regulations or creative guidelines for their newest single, “Weightless” (off of their album, Lucky).
In addition to having their video selected, participants were told that the winner would receive $3,000. The two runner-ups were to each receive a copy of their 5-LP vinyl box set the band worked on plus some t-shirts. Check out the winning video below!

Los Angeles-based tropical-punk band, Abe Vigoda, is set to hit the road again. They have recently wrapped up a collaorative tour with Diplo, Telepathe, and 8-bit Hit, but they’re not tired yet. This time, they are leaving for a tour in the UK and the rest of Europe in support of their latest album, Skeleton. Their future trek across Europe will begin on December 1st and last until the 13th.

Radiohead has released a new video for their song “15 Step.” The video was created by Kota Totori, a fan of Radiohead who won a contest sponsored by the band, giving her creative control over the video.
Radiohead currently has no US tour dates scheduled, with only four dates currently on their docket two in Mexico City and two in Chile in March of next year. Ed and Philip will rejoin Neil Finn in the Seven Worlds Collide project at the end of the year. That group is expected to record an album of entirely new material in support of international development organization Oxfam.

Army Navy has released the music video for their first single “My Thin Sides” off the self-titled debut album and they were looking for a movie star to help promote it. Instead the found comedian Paul Scheer, a face (or rather a set of teeth) you probably know well from “30 Rock,” “Upright Citizen’s Brigade,” and more. It’s completely random. I have no clue why he’s running around naked in the video. But he is! Check it out below.
