Pavement Could Reform for Coachella

It looks like Pavement could be reforming for Coachella this year. Former guitarist for the band Scott Kannberg has said the band may get back together soon and “has had talks with Coachelle festival chiefs about them performing at the event.”
Kannberg also stated however that 2009 might be too early for the band to start performing together again: “2009 would be our 20-year anniversary too, so that’d be a good time to do it, but I think that’s too soon, it might have to be pushed back later….Coachella keep asking our booking agent but our booking agent’s pretty strong. He’s waiting for the right number, I think.”
They’ll have to decide pretty soon. Coachella is set to take place April 17 and 19 in Indio, California. Current acts expected to already be on the docket include The Killers and Blur.
