Thom Yorke in Grammys Publicity Campaign
By Morelli
Radiohead vocalist Thom Yorke has lent his image to the Grammy Awards publicity campaign. Yorke’s poster ad is a reproduction of his face, construed out of the names of songs, lyrics, albums and artists that influenced him over the years. The ad has been divulged, along with other ads featuring Coldplay, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne.
The Grammys need all the publicity they can get, especially after last year’s appallingly low audiences for the award ceremony. Rihanna, Stevie Wonder and Lenny Kravitz will also be joining the campaign, which will be on TV, radio, online and in print. Its slogan is “Celebrate the Music That Made Us”, and artists were asked to name 10 to 20 artists to form their faces in the ads. If you look closely, it’s possible to recognize a few names!
