Radiohead to Perform at Grammy Awards Ceremony
By Morelli
The 2009 Grammy Awards will count on a performance from Radiohead, nominated for five awards, including best album. Thom Yorke is already advertising for the Grammys, and now Pitchfork reports that the band is also going to perform at the event, scheduled for February 8th in Los Angeles.
Performers Coldplay, Lil Wayne, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, the Jonas Brothers, and Katy Perry are also scheduled to be onstage. With the addition of Radiohead, The Recording Academy is definitely making a great effort to turn things around after last year’s dismal TV audiences.
Radiohead has previously won two Grammys for Best Alternative Album, for Kid A and Ok Computer. This year, the band is also nominated for Best Rock Song, Best Alternative Album, Best Rock Performance and Best Short Music Video. Those are favorable odds to snag an award, but which one?
