Coachella Lineup is Here! McCartney, The Killers, The Cure to Headline
By davidhall
Well, it ends up Ryan Seacrest did lie (a little bit) and Defamer didn’t testify much better, but neither of those rumors matter any longer because the OFFICIAL lineup was announced this morning on Coachella’s website!
But remember, this is just the INITIAL lineup. We got Prince a little late in the game last year, so we can still cross our fingers for an appearance from David Bowie.

And as for proof that we’re not just making this up. Here is the official Coachella 2009 poster.

I’d say that if this looks good to you, buy your tickets now before it becomes a rat race. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. with 3-day passes at $269.00. Pricey, but Coachella is offering a layaway option this year for all the music-crazed middle-classers out there! Huge props to festival organizers on this one.
But I have a serious beef: AMY WINEHOUSE? One thing’s for sure, if you’re hittin’ up the fest on Saturday (April 18), and you happen to run into a crazy woman that can sing incredibly well, keep your guard up. Wouldn’t want any of that crazy to rub off.
What do you think of the initial lineup? Who should Goldenvoice/Coachella add?

Sounds like an amazing line-up! I wonder if the contents of my wallet will stretch far enough to go this year! I went free on the Sunday night The Cure was headlining five years ago, and it was one fabulous night… it'd be awesome to relive it.
