Seriously, on this history event and of historic importance that she would say something like that. C'mon Etta grow up. My respect for you dropped a notch or three. You made the song famous, this generation, this president chose to have the "Etta James" of this generation to sing at their inaugural ball. Suck it up, get over it, and move on. Neither of them did anything to you to warrant such commentary. Such a shame that even still regarding this great leap in culture the black community suffers from "haterism". How can we as a people all get ahead if we're so busy holding each other back? Now that the barrier that seem insurmountable has been overcome - we now have to reflect on ourselves and have no one else to blame for our lack of success. Etta, you are then. Beyonce and our president are now. I hope those old hatreds and self defeating impulses die with your generation. Clearly, this generation, black and white, have spoken. Sad.
