Madlib Collection Available for Download

Hip Hop producer Madlib has his extensive collection available over at the Stones Throw Records website. Tracks are a dollar, and albums start at $10, making it the perfect opportunity to dive into the history of the talented producer.
The core Madlib experience rests onĀ hip hop, but he has always looked for new ways to impress. Jazz record label Blue Note gave the musician access to their archives, which he remixed into Shades of Blue released in 2003. Madlib frequently collaborates with a wide range of artists, having produced the like of J Dilla, De La Soul, Erykah Badu, and the LA Symphony.
Madlib has also worked with Jay Dee under the Jaylib alias, and with MF Doom, but some of his best compositions are under the pseudonym Quasimoto, which he first presented to the public in The Unseen LP. Being a multi-instrumentalist, Madlib has also created jazz group Yesterdays New Quintet, in which he plays all the instruments as four fictitious characters, Ahmad Miller, Monk Hughes, Malik Flavors, Joe McDuphrey; and Madlib under his real name.
Madlib will be performing alongside the classical composers David Axelrod and Mulatu Astatke, whose music he has sampled and remixed, in Los Angeles during this Spring. Not particularly common, a sampler next to the musicians he himself sampled. If you want to check out the event, you can get more information here.
