Roundup: Muse, King Creosote, Yorke for Terminator
By Brian McConnell
- Terminator: Salvation‘s pyrotechnic director, McG, said at New York Comic Con this weekend that he approached Thom Yorke and Babel composer Gustavo Santaolalla to craft special music for the movie, which is scored by Danny Elfman. Yorke has frequently been rumored as a participant on movie soundtracks but the rumors rarely become truth. Let’s hope both Yorke and Santaolla will squash all of the negative noise presently surrounding this film with their musical genius. [Paste]
- Muse is likely to release their follow-up to 2006′s “Black Holes and Revelations” this September. The album, which is presently, untitled has been anticipated ever since bassist Chris Wolstenholme wrote to fans saying that “it would be nice for us to be able to release the album in the second half of 2009 but it is more important for us to make the best album we have made to date and if that means it comes out in 2012 then we don’t mind.” According to those close to the band at Warner’s, the band’s record label, fans will be able to get their hands on the newest Muse before 2010. As an outspoken fan Stephanie Meyer’s is sure to be looking forward to this release, maybe it will motivate her to write another Twilight book. [NME]
