V-Day Festival: Lucent L’Amour in Downtown Los Angeles
By davidhall
Valentine’s Day is just a week away, so if you haven’t revved up your romance engine already, here’s an event made just for finding that lovin’ feeling. From the tripped-out minds of the festival designers who brought you Coachella, Burning Man and Lighting in a Bottle comes what has a been dubbed a “visionary love fest”: Lucent L’amour in Downtown Los Angeles on Feb. 14.
In its second year, the DJ/rave-oriented V-Day fest will feature a ground-shaking lineup that includes DJ Z-Trip (headlining), Adam Freeland (remember “Aer Obama”?), Marques Wyatt, Jupiter, and many more.
From 7 p.m. to 4 a.m. (Feb. 15), the entire 600 block of Imperial Street, from 6th Street to Jesse Street, including Lot 613 in Downtown L.A., will be packed with swarms of whimsically-dressed (and mostly half-naked) ravers grinding and bouncing at three stages. The festival will also feature several artist installations, live painting by local artists and the constant presence of the terrifyingly sexy Lucent Dossier Vaudeville Cirque troop.
Based on reviews from last year, it’s gonna be one helluva freakshow…
