Cover Art: Green Day, The Decemberist, Pete Doherty

Green Day’s new album, “21st Century Breakdown,” should be in stores this spring. This album will be Green Day’s follow up to 2004′s “American Idiot.” While they can, by no means, be called a true “punk” band, Green Day has been putting out good music quite consistently. “21st Century Breakdown” just might be something to look forward to.

The Decemberist, whose “Hazards of Love” is a concept album that tells the story of a “woman named Margaret who is ravaged by a shape-shifting animal; her lover, William; a forest queen; and a cold-blooded, lascivious rake” stated a spokesperson for the band. The album is set for a March 24 release. It’s fair to say that this is likely the strangest concept for an album, ever.

Pete Doherty’s upcoming solo album, “Grace/Wasteland” was created by renowned French artist Alize Meurisse. The album is slated for March 16 release date. The artwork (sorry it’s so small) is amazing but one will have to wait and see if Doherty’s music is equally enthralling.
