Obama to Honor Stevie Wonder at White House Concert
By davidhall
It’s a huge plus to have a president that shares our passions, and thank goodness Obama shares our passion for groovin’ tunes.
As part of PBS’s “Performance at theĀ White House” series, the network will broadcast a Stevie Wonder concert live from the White House on Feb. 26. The show follows a Feb. 25 award ceremony where the president and the first lady will honor Wonder with a Library of Congress award. Wonder’s song “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” was a staple during Obama’s campaign and was performed during inauguration week, so it’s only natural that our commander-in-chief should extend him a special thanks.
But really, Wonder’s status as a Library of Congress Living Legend (that’s his title after the award is given) is long overdue. I mean, have you seen the list? It’s not very long and Stevie should’ve been on there long ago. Maybe updating this list will be a key part of Obama’s legacy… Let’s hope so.
Three cheers for Stevie Wonder! After looking at the list, who else should be honored as a Library of Congress Living Legend?
