Arcade Fire and Beirut Members in Team B
By Morelli
Team B, the newest project led by Arcade Fire/Beirut member Kelly Pratt, includes LCD Soundsystem’s Pat Mahoney on drums, Jon Natchez and Perrin Cloutier from Beirut and Richard Reed Parry from Arcade Fire. While without a label, the band has recorded an album that’s available now through the Team B Myspace, and through iTunes.
The big names are enough to get excited, but you might be surprised with the resulting sound. Using synths and guitars, they describe themselves as “easy-listening” alt rock, and there are high hopes for Team B’s second self-released album, the follow-up to last year’s self-titled album.
The New York band also pulls members from Twin Thousands and Beatcrave Fav: Jealous Girlfriends to complete their lineup for live performances, here’s what the live band looks like:
- Kelly Pratt (Beirut, Arcade Fire)
- Tracy Pratt (Beirut)
- Ryan Smith (Twin Thousands, Stars Like Fleas)
- Jon Natchez (Beirut, Stars Like Fleas)
- Jason Poranski (Beirut, FreeTime)
- Mike Fadem (Jealous Girlfriends)
Check out some streaming tracks on their Myspace, and watch out for live performances of the new supergroup in New York. Here’s a video about Team B and some of their associates:
