Last week, Pitchfork announced their dates for their annual music festival held in Chicago’s Union Park. Now we’ve got an initial lineup! Artists scheduled to perform are: Yo La Tengo, The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Grizzly Bear, Vivian Girls and more. It’s sounding good so far.

Pitchfork Music Festival is known for having their event kicked off by big names performing their most popular album (Public Enemy performing It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back in 2008 and Sonic Youth playing Daydream Nation in 2007). However, they’re trying something a little different this year. They’re starting a series called “Write The Night: Set Lists By Requests” where the audience gets to vote for which songs all four bands (Built To Spill, the Jesus Lizard, Yo La Tengo, and Tortoise) will perform on Friday night. It’s supposed to work like this:

When you buy your ticket, you’ll get a confirmation email. That confirmation email will include a link to a page where you can vote on which songs from each band you want to hear. The bands will tailor their set lists accordingly.

The voting will start the same day as the tickets go on sale (March 13th) and your chance to put in your suggestions will end on June 12th.  See below for the starting lineup and keep checking back with us for more updates!
