Upcoming Releases: Grizzly Bear, Mr. Oizo, Au Revoir Simone

- Warp Records will release the third Grizzly Bear LP, entitled Veckatimest, on May 25/26th, nearly two-and-a-half years since their defining album, Yellow House. The band has a busy schedule in 2009, with appearances at SXSW and Bonnaroo. The album’s title is the name of a small island on the Massachusetts coast, and guitarist Ed Drost told Pitchfork that despite previous collaborations on the Friends EP, this new effort is just the four members of the band. - Acclaimed electronica artist Mr. Oizo, of “yellow puppet” fame, will have his Pourriture EP out on Ed Banger Records on March 16th, after his 2008 album Lambs Anger. Brushing shoulders with other artists at Ed Banger, like Justice, Dj Mehdi and Sebastian, the heavy electro-beats from Mr. Oizo are sure to bring chaos to dancefloors around the world. Watch out for the release, and check out his Myspace for tour dates in Australia and Europe.
- Au Revoir Simone is preparing to launch their next album, Still Night, Still Light, on May 19th, which is the follow up to 2007’s “The Bird Of Music“. The trio will release the album on their own label Our Secret Record Company, and have announced the full tracklisting. The band will also be performing at SXSW this month, and a full North American tour is in the works and should be announced soon.
