Spotify, the free streaming music service we’ve mentioned before, has updated their music catalogue today with 22,000 new tracks. Some highlights of the new update are Mr. Oizo, Nightwish, Funker Vogt, Pete Doherty, Melotron, Walls Of Jericho, Motörhead, and much more, so check out the full listing here.

On top of today’s update,  another 88,000 songs were added to the service last Friday, including Radiohead’s back catalog. Friday’s full listing is also viewable, so check it out. Pretty soon, if it isn’t on Spotify, it doesn’t exist!

Spotify streams free music to your desktop, and the only drawback is advertising added sporadically during songs. The service has more than one million registered users, and with this newest update, it seems to have resolved some previous issues with the major labels. The two catalog updates should be enough to outweigh the backlash from the recent breach in Spotify’s security, having been hacked in late 2008 and robbed of a number of users’ personal information.

Spotify users are happy, with such a vast collection of music at their disposal. If the service continues to grow at this rate, we’ll probably see even more musicians and labels become interested in belonging to Spotify’s line-up.

Are the new updates enough for you to convert?
