Roundup: The Shins, Pearl Jam, Bad Bands…

So much news, so little time! Here are a couple of awesome stories we found around the web that we though you might be interested in…
- The Shins leave the Sub Pop label. The band has not made a public announcement about where they are taking their music yet. Speculation suggests a major label; the Shins are growing up in the music world and will probably need more than an independent label can give. Good luck to the band! [PerfSpot]
- P.O.S. covers Pearl Jam’s “Why Go” in honor of the Ten reissue. P.O.S. covering “Why Go?” Why not? It’s unique, well done, and I won’t question it. Just goes to show that music is universal; a midwestern rapper is paying tribute to one of his favorite bands. [PreFixMag]
- DJ Hero to Feature Z-Trip and DJ Shadow (and Maybe Daft Punk). The article is not talking about the music; it’s saying that Z-Trip and DJ Shadow will be playable characters. I’m cautiously optimistic, but I gotta say: DJ Hero? That sounds ridiculous. [PreFixMag]
- Your favorite bands suck. It’s true. I didn’t say it, BullzEye did! This one is about all those groups that are, for whatever reason, universally praised. This one hits hard; I admit that a couple of my favorite bands are on this list, but the rest just baffle me. I don’t have anything against Pink Floyd, but they didn’t change my life. [BullzEye]
