Marilyn Manson Gives Fans ‘We’re From America’ Today

Ready for some more tunes that are deeply disturbing yet surprisingly profound?
Then head straight to disturbing website of eclectic rocker Marilyn Manson to check out his latest single, “We’re From America,” which he is reportedly gifting to fans today. Through a March 23 press release, Manson announced he would be distributing through the single today. However, the singer (or his web guy) must be sleeping in, because the song isn’t up yet.
For those of you Manson junkies sitting here clicking your refresh button, here’s what we know about the song so far…
“We’re From America” is a special preview of Manson’s upcoming album, “The High End Low,” which is his first effort since 2007′s “Eat Me, Drink Me.” The song released today will be followed by an official first single release of a track called “Arma…geddon” on May 18.
These songs will mark the first time since 2000 that Manson followers will hear a recorded collaboration with bassist Twiggy Ramirez, although he re-joined the band for their tour last year.
Here’s what the self-portrayed anti-Christ had to say about “The High End Low”:
“I think my life definitely ended and began. The record sounds very final, but it’s almost optimistic – though that feels like a strange word to use. It’s a phoenix from the fire and a redemption resurrection.”

I'm actually really thrilled: for the first time we'll have a free download from Marilyn Manson, which is great for those of us who don't buy his records since we boycott Universal stuff…

Marilyn Manson's new track "We're from America" is probably on the same level as that "Doll-Dagga Buzz-Buzz Ziggety-Zag" song – now I love Manson's albums – all of them, but some songs sound like fillers…very, very disappointing to read interviews where he says it's on the ANTICHRIST SUPERSTAR level & end up with this
Still a fan & can't wait for the album!

So far I've heard four tracks from the album — this one and three leaked demos — and I can already say that I think this actually is his best work since Mechanical Animals. It feels like they decided to ignore the interceding decade and haven't skipped a beat; this new sound(s) fits in naturally with the material of the late 90's. Welcome back, Twiggy–now we know what we've been missing!
April is going to be one long month.
