By Allison
Here are some stories you may have missed over the weekend:
- Corey Taylor of Slipknot fame started his own record label. Taylor intends to help his fellow Midwest residing musicians get noticed and unite the local scene. He has good intentions, great ones in fact, but will the label sink or swim? [Indie Update]
- Chin Up Chin Up, break up break up. Hm, I somehow expected a longer run, but not to worry; founding member Jeremy Bolen has started a new project, Vacations, with a couple of the other members. [Pitchfork]
- 3 indie bands featured in mainstream media! The Wall Street Journal published a blurb about 3 indie bands that had albums debut in Billboard’s Top 200 this week. Awesome! [Wall Street Journal]
- A biography on Toronto’s Broken Social Scene will be out on May 16th! Not a whole lot of information on what the focus is on; since it’s a biography, I’m going to guess it will be like a timeline. [Spacelab]
