Wolfmother Comes ‘Back Round’ Today With Free Song
By davidhall
While rock n’ roll veterans are banding together in supergroups like Chickenfoot to revive classic rock, it’s thrilling to see a few up-and-coming bands joining in the effort.
One such group is Australia’s Wolfmother, who, with a fresh line-up of musicians, have effectively re-emerged today with the release of their first new recording since the release of their debut self-titled album in 2005. The rockers from down under are offering their new song, “Back Round,” for free, starting today, on Wolfmother.com.
The song marks the first cut from lead singer Andrew Stockdale‘s newly selected ensemble, which formed after the band’s original line up called it quits last year. Stockdale should be pleased with his decision to continue under the Wolfmother name, because the new material builds on the band’s repertoire with an even more raucous sound.
The band is currently in Los Angeles completing the new album with producer Alan Moulder. Although no title or release date is set, Wolfmother has previewed other new tracks such as “Violence of the Sun“, “Monolith“, and “Inside the Mountain” during their live shows over the last two years. So if you can’t wait for the new album to drop, look out for Wolfmother on the road in the near future!
