The Motion Sick: BeatCrave Fav

The Motion Sick can’t seem to pinpoint what genre they are, and to be honest, that’s perfectly fine with us. They’re very stealthy and intentional about it, though, kind of like a parent slipping spinach into their kids’ food in an attempt to get them to try it – which would do well for those who keep saying they should try listening to something other than their favorite, but don’t. Have you ever had a moment where one album in your favorite band’s history consisted of tracks that bled into the other like it was one never-ending song – and not necessarily a good one at that? By listening to their free stream on their official website or Myspace, one is easily a recipient of a smorgasboard of sound: from 1950′s teen dream rock n’ roll, ska, folk, even cowboy legend. Their lyrics are pretty out there, also, ranging from directions on how to use video game controllers to UFOs – oddly enough with such prose and poetic quality that they’re as good a read in black-and-white. They are consistent in their delivery, charming, and an easy catch. That’s pretty much all we could ask for in a band, but The Motion Sick gets brownie points for going the extra mile in all applicable fields.
