Go Kart Mozart: BeatCrave Fav

I’m just going to say it: Weezer is cool. The Blue album is a classic. And as cliche as it is, Go Kart Mozart is quite like Weezer’s much younger sibling – you’ll swear they came from the same embryo, but we all know the scientific probability of that. Their sound is that of a homegrown group of kids who kept loyal to their after school band and listened to the Violent Femmes until at least the freshman year of college.

Listeners will experiences warm pockets of energy and rolling changes in mood, quips on society and subtle storytelling. There’s no way of knowing how influential a band is until at least a few of their contenders have died out/surrendered to fan attention as if up against a battalion, but Go Kart Mozart is confident in being a true-to-form indie band, working the room like pros. We’d find it a little ironic if the background for any of their albums was of a bold, distinct hue, but we’re happy to report that they didn’t go there.
