Michael Jackson’s Possessions Go to Auction
By Morelli
Michael Jackson is auctioning off 1,390 items taken from “Neverland” on April 22 to 25. A 900-page catalog is available for browsing online at juliensauctions.com, and some of the most notable lots include the king’s crown, scepter, ice cream cart and life-size Lego model of Darth Vader.
Mr. Jackson doesn’t want to sell anything; however, he was forced to remove all of his possessions from the Neverland estate last year to save it from foreclosure. The auction house representatives say that the company expects to raise $15 million to $20 million in sales.
It’s possible to bid online for the items, and there are eight sessions divided by category, ranging from garden statuary, decorative art and outdoor furniture to amusements, arcade games and Disney memorabilia.
There are many interesting items to bid on, but the best is definitely the portrait of the King of Pop in royal garb. The famous crystal studded gloves are also up for auction (lots 1,366 through 1,374), and the most valuable is estimated up to $15,000. You can also buy Edward’s original Scissorhands and Harisson Ford encased in carbonite!
