Lollapalooza 2009 Lineup

By

lolla1 Lollapalooza 2009 LineupAfter loads of rumors, leaks, and confirmations, the official Lollapalooza lineup is here. Released at midnight CST, the festival includes headliners: Depeche Mode, Tool, The Killers, Jane’s Addiction, Beastie Boys, and Kings of Leon. In addition to the heavy-hitters, Lollapalooza will feature a wide-array of indie acts from Andrew Bird, to Crystal Castles, and Fleet Foxes to STS9. If you follow the breakout bands of the past year, you may enjoy The Gaslight Anthem, The Airborne Toxic Event, Glasvegas, or White Lies among others. If you’re more into the electronic side of things, be sure to catch MSTRKRFT, Bassnectar, Crookers, Kid Cudi, and the Animal Collective DJ set. As always, the three-day festival offers a little something for everyone.

Five years into the 10-year contract with the Chicago Park District, the festival will once again be hosted in Grant Park, the heart of Chicago. $1 million of the proceeds from the festival have already been earmarked to restore the historical landmark, Buckingham Fountain. The project is estimated to cost a total of $25 million and Parkways is pledging $5 million toward the project and they are pledging $250,000 per year for four years (this being year two) of Parkways Lollapalooza proceeds to the restoration project.

Advance three-day passes are currently available here for $190. When the advance tickets sell out, prices will jump to $205. All tickets include service fees so no additional charges (except shipping.)
