Check out the collection below…

CD’s

Under $10

  • Various Artists – Not the Same Old Blues Crap II | $4.98
  • TV on the Radio – Return to Cookie Mountain (with Bonus Tracks) | $7.97
  • Cafe Tacuba – Cuatros Caminos | $9.97
  • Paul Robeson – Great Voices of the 20th Century: The Golden Voice of Paul Robeson | $8.98

Check out the Cafe Tacuba album. They are an awesome Mexican band and Cuatros Caminos is one of their best album. They’ve even worked with the great Gustavo Santoalloa (composer of Babel, 21 Grams, Amores Perros, etc.). But if you don’t own the TV on the Radio album, the price here is pretty hard to beat.

$10-$15

Lust for Life is a classic, and has some interesting history behind it (i.e. David Bowie and Iggy Pop were away in Berlin together when they recorded this). The Daniel Johnston cover album is a great collection, featuring such acts as Beck, Flaming Lips, and M. Ward, and is a good price for two discs (one disc for the covers and the other for the original versions).

Box Sets

The Soul Party box set is pretty cool, but you can get hours of the legendary Sam Cooke for the same price. You have to be past the point of introduction, of course, but if you love Sam Cooke (like I know you do) then what is there to stop you from that box set?

Mp3 Albums

The entire new Depeche Mode album for four bucks is an unbeatable price. Sure, it’s not for everyone, but if it’s your thing, just get it. It’s more than worth it. Richard Cheese is kind of a novelty act. He rearranges contemporary songs into what sound like old swinging lounge tunes. It’s good for a laugh. Manchester Orchestra has been featured as one of our Favs before, and I say it’s a bargain. And if you want the folk stuff, the Townes Van Zandt album is perfect.
