Katy Perry’s New Video Looks Like a Vegas Ad

Is this a music video or an ad for Vegas? I’m not quite sure. Katy Perry has just released her new video for her fourth single, “Waking Up In Vegas” onto MySpace and Youtube and I although it’s always fun watching her play dress up, the song paired with the video just looks like an expensive Vegas promo.
The music video debuted on iTunes on April 28th as an online one-week exclusive, and zoomed the same day to the No. 1 spot in its best-selling Top Music Videos chart. Personally I think Perry is better than this video.

The video was shot on location in two days by MTV Video Music Award and Grammy-winning director Joseph Kahn. For some reason they got Joel David Moore (House, Avatar) to be her partner in crime, but to me the duo doesn’t quite match up.
Perry has so much talent, I really don’t think this is the best way of showing it off.
