Poll: Which “Mother” Song Do You Like Best?
By Seraphina L.
In honor of Mother’s Day, we’re asking which one of these songs you like best. They all are about mothers or either mention the words “mother” or “mama,” but don’t necessarily translate into that sappy Hallmark -friendly tune. We’ve picked out the legitimate tunes for you to compare.
Take a listen after the jump, then vote below to let us know!
Do you enjoy the troublesome 90′s letter from Tracy Bonham in “Mother Mother?” (Listen here) Is Elliott Smith’s “Wouldn’t Mama Be Proud” still a favorite of yours? (Listen here) How about The Beatles’ “Julia,” where John Lennon softly tributes his mother? (Listen here) Do you enjoy the poppy “Mother” from The Police where Sting has odd vocal outbursts? (Listen here) Or do you like The Rolling Stones’ ode to pill popping mothers in “Mother’s Little Helper?” (Listen here)
