Green Day Plans Secret Show, Online Broadcast
By Jeffrey Hyatt
The hype surrounding the return of Green Day continues to build with word that the punk-rock trio will give a free concert for 300 fans in New York on Tuesday, May 19 as part of MySpace Music’s concert series “The List.”
The band will perform at Webster Hall, just days after the release of their new album 21st Century Breakdown, which hits stores on Friday, May 15. Green Day fans will get their chance to win tickets to the ‘secret gig’ by responding to a series of messages and bulletins posted by MySpace at MySpace / The List.
If that sort of ‘net labor isn’t your cup of tea, fans can kick-back and wait for the concert to be rebroadcast shortly after the show via MySpace Music. Additionally, a bunch of tickets will also be going on sale Saturday.
21st Century Breakdown is Green Day’s eighth album, the follow-up to the 2004 blockbuster American Idiot.
