Poll: Do We Need Another Hero?

We all know that the games Guitar Hero and Rock Band are banking it right now. Some say that these games are helping the the music industry and some say that it’s just a big pain in the ass when it comes to royalties and licensing. However, neither of those statements change the fact that musicians who lend their songs to these games are getting their name out there as little teens (and some adults) are “playing” their hearts out in a competitive manner along to these tunes.

Now, the “Hero” series is branching out with DJ Hero where players will be able to remix songs with an easy-to-use turntable. It may be nice for the company to reach out to other genres like so many mash-up and remix artists tend to do, but do we really need another Hero game?

Should people be “playing” along to songs rather than just picking up a real instrument to do it? For those of us who have played these popular games, we know it’s fun but how much more can they do with this series? What do you think about the DJ Hero game? Do you think it’s a great idea or are you just sick of this wannabe indulgence? Vote and let us know your thoughts!

Guitar Hero is fine because it's tougher to pick up separate instruments, gather people, and have a space to jam out.

but there's no need for DJ Hero since the act of DJ'ing itself is basically playing a game with beats.
also it's cheaper to just download software (like FL) and do something creative rather than play off somebody else's work.

we live in the world of Girl Talk and Hood Internet. if these amateurs could do great stuff with the resources available, so can kids who choose not to buy this video game.
