Venetian Snares has a new EP entitled Horsey Noises which is available at the Bleep digital store right now, and will have its physical release on CD and 12” vinyl on Planet Mu Records starting June 1. You can listen to free streams of the tracks on the Planet Mu Website.

Aaron Funk’s extreme jungle breakcore is somewhat toned down for this release compared with his earlier work, and comes within a very listenable range. He thinks it’s a nice record “for making love to your husband/wife/girlfriend/boyfriend/leather boy/blow up doll/inflatable sheep/hand”, and says on his Myspace blog:

“Please purchase my record so I may collect enough funds to build a giant robotic giraffe that vomits up inflatable piggies filled with nitrous.”

3. Pig Dync
4. Horsey Noisers

Venetian Snares has dozens of releases, several per year, and at times it’s difficult to keep up. However, those who follow his “surrealist” IDM music will be pleased to know that Funk has embedded a wide range of genres in Horsey Noises, building on top of his characteristic high-paced breakcore and electronic synths with vocals and danceable electro rhythms. Watch him push the envelope with “Hajnal” in a recent live performance:

Crazy! What do you think of the new EP? How about inflatable sheep?
