Brütal Legend: Jack Black Stars in Heavy Metal Game
EA Games and Double Fine Productions will release Brütal Legend on October 13, starring Jack Black as the voice of Eddie Riggs, an experienced roadie who’s transported into the legendary “Age of Rock” to fight evil. The game is designed by Tim Schafer, who you might recall from the Monkey Island series, Grim Fandango, and Psychonauts.
Eddie recruits an army of headbangers, and fights to save the alternate world from demons. The main enemy is a glam rocker, called General Lionwhyte, whose shining, enormous hair allows him to fly. Tenacious D has teamed up with Gamestop to offer an in-game guitar to those who pre-order the game, check it out after the jump:

That looks like a pretty bad-ass guitar. Jack Black also thought it would be a good idea to get in shape for his important part in the title:
In Brütal Legend, “liberated” fans are the currency for Eddie’s battles. You build a merchandise booth near them to harvest the energy necessary to recruit melee headbangers and teenage runaways equipped with bows and arrows. Eddie has a mighty battle axe for close combat, and a magical guitar, Clementine, for ranged warfare.
What remains to be seen is what bands and types of metal will be represented on the game’s soundtrack. Will they include known songs, or will they just spoof the genre? Which tracks do you think are a must for heavy metal game?
Brütal Legend will be available “Rocktober” 13th, for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

I love Jack Black, his School of rock really rocks. Anyway, the game looks great.
