This summer Sir Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan are set to get together to record a collaboration with one another. Two greats in American music history coming together is sure to create a big buzz and rightfully so.

After years of admitting they would want to work together and showing admiration for the talent level the other possesses, the two will finally come together. According to a source, the biggest problem with getting them together was scheduling:

“Paul has a home in California not too far from Bob’s so the idea is for the two to meet when Paul is in California over the summer… Getting these two together for any length of time is difficult schedule-wise but they both want this to work out. The music that comes out of this will be fascinating to hear.”

Bob Dylan has been quoted in the Rolling Stone magazine saying:

“I’m in awe of McCartney. He’s about the only one that I am in awe of. He can do it all. And he’s never let up… He’s just so damn effortless.”

In their prime neither man could do wrong musically. They are both musical geniuses in their own right. Bringing the two together can only mean double the greatness… right?

What do you think of the pairing of Sir Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan? Do they still have what it takes to make great music that the new generation can relate to?

I've seen them both live. It will be an "interesting" effort, one that I suspect will make Dylan sound better or McCartney worse. Still, it is music and they are both legends in varying degrees, so who can blame them for checking it out? I'll stay tuned for a listen.
