Tera Melos Releases Remixable EP: Drugs To The Dear Youth
By Morelli
Tera Melos is now offering their Drugs to the Dear Youth EP as a “pay-what-you-want” download, where the minimum payable is five dollars. In addition, they are releasing the separate bass, drum and guitar tracks of the EP, for those who are inclined to remix, also for a minimum $5. From their statement:
“It seemed like a fun idea. Do whatever you want with [the songs]. Remix them, re-record parts, point out all the mistakes, download the tracks and burn them to a CD-R and then break it in half. Whatever is cool. Curious to see what people come up with.”
The band’s “stem tracks”, as well as the entire Tera Melos catalogue, is available at their new digital store: teramelos.bandcamp.com. Bandcamp is a publishing platform for musicians, which lets bands control their own content, design, URL addresses while being completely ad-free. It’s basically a private iTunes, but it allows for all the audiophile’s favorite formats such as mp3, AAC, FLAC and Ogg.
Tera Melos also asks if we want the band to have a Twitter account:
“Would anyone read it? That site makes me sick to my stomach to look at. Are the rumors true? No one uses Myspace anymore? It seems like only bands that scream have Twitters. I don’t know. What do you think?”
The band doesn’t plan to have their next album completed by the end of this year. But in the meantime, here’s a fresh DJ set of drum and bass, by the collective Hi Fidel Cartel, that you can download absolutely for free. Enjoy!
