29 Cheap CDs: Kings of Leon, Tegan & Sara, Zee Avi...

Here it comes again readers, the narrowed down list of the music that is out there, at a price you can afford, I hope. Last week, I remembered that the word cheap is somewhat offensive. Try not to think of good music is not cheap; but as a gift from the music gods, or as my economics professor referred to deals as, cost-efficient. Therefore, in the attempt to save you time and keep you happy, here comes another list of great bargains.

Sure Kings of Leon are all the rage now, but their new album Only by the Night is not their only album. Youth & Young Manhood is Kings of Leon’s first album and has a lot of great songs. Red Morning Light is one of my favorite songs; the beat is fun. Their early stuff is upbeat (unlike their more popular songs today) and although they sound very different from today’s Kings of Leon, they were still great, even then.

$10-$15

Simon & Garfunkel – The Best of Simon & Garfunkel | $10.97
Vivian Girls – Vivian Girls | $11.98
Belle and Sebastian – BBC Sessions (Deluxe – 2 disc) | $15.98
Tegan & Sara – So Jealous | $13.98

So Jealous will always be one of my favorite albums of all time. I remember going to bed listening to the wondrous lyrics of Canada’s own Tegan & Sara. There are too many favorites on this album to name, but if you think the CD is going for too much, then download the MP3 on Amazon for only $9.99. This album will surely get your heart pumping.

If you haven’t heard of Zee Avi, then fellow readers you are missing out! Her debut self-titled album came out last Tuesday (May 19th) and her sounds have a 1920′s edge crossed with an island sensation. If you want some jazz sounds then Zee is your woman, and for a very good price. Does It Offend You Yeah? is also among those artists ‘to watch.’ Last March, Rolling Stone featured the band as a ‘breaking artist.’
