Phil Spector Jailed for at least 19 years

Legendary U.S. music producer Phil Spector has been sentenced to 19 years to life in prison on Friday for the murder of actress Lana Clarkson.
Spector, 69, who invented the “Wall of Sound” and worked with renown artists like The Ronettes, The Beatles, Cher and Ike, and Tina Turner, was accused of shooting Clarkson, 40, in the mouth in the foyer of his mock castle home in Los Angeles on February 3, 2003. The two had met at the House of Blues nightclub just hours before.
Spector has denied all along murdering Clarkson and his attorneys suggest that Clarkson may have committed suicide because of her failing career. But Spector has been described as a bully in the studio and several witnesses testified that he threaten them with guns. Apparently that was enough for the jury who found him guilty of murder.
Before the sentencing, Donna Clarkson, the victim’s mother, told the judge that she was heartbroken over the death of her daughter and expressed grief over the dreams that her and her daughter had together. “Now, I can only visit her at the cemetery,” she said.
