Beatles: Rock Band Music Video, Brutal Legend Rock Gods Revealed
By MorelliThat’s the intro for the upcoming Beatles: Rock Band game, by Passion Pictures revealed at the E3 Microsoft press conference. The animated music video looks like it has drawn influence from several different styles. I see some of Terry Gilliam’s Monty Python referenced, and Passion Pictures has been responsible for much of the visuals of the animated rock band Gorillaz.
Another trailer, for the Brutal Legend game featuring Jack Black, was released at E3, and it showed the four rock gods that will appear throughout the game. Guess who they are:
Double Fine’s game will be voiced by Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Motorhead’s Lemmy Kilmister, Lita Ford and, of course, Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne. I guess now we can expect a heavy soundtrack.
The inclusion of rocks stars in Brutal Legend is more proof of how artists and labels are partnering with games publishers to create new entertainment. I think the gods fit the roles, and it’s great that Tim Schafer is designing the game, as we’re likely to see the return of the long forgotten adventure game genre.
Which music games are you looking forward to?
