Enter The Lollapalooza DJ Remix Contest
By Jeffrey Hyatt

Calling all mix-masters and turntable maestros, time to crank up the wheels of steel for the Lollapalooza DJ Remix Contest. This year, Lollapalooza has taken their annual “Last Band Standing” concept and given it a funky twist: For the Last Band Standing Remix, DJs can send in their remixes and then the fans get to vote for their favorites.
Plus, Perry Ferrell and company decided to have DJs from Chicago face-off against DJs from around the globe. So it’s Second City versus the World!
The Dell Lounge hosts this year’s online competition and each of the four finalists will receive a new Dell Studio Laptop Laptop (there’s also tons of other cool prizes included). The last two DJ’s standing will perform on a bill on the all-electronic stage with the likes of MSTRKRFT and Simian Mobile Disco.
The Last Band Standing Remix is already up and running and DJ’s can submit their best mix at the Dell Lounge site. Judges and fans will vote to narrow down the top 50 mixes – 25 from Chicago artists, and 25 DJs from around the globe.
At the end of the multi-round, two-month campaign, two lucky and worthy DJs will earn prize spots on stage at Lollapalooza. Lollapalooza is a three-day, eight-stage music festival happening August 7-9, 2009 in Chicago with 130+ bands.
Headliners this year are Depeche Mode, Tool, The Killers, a reunited Jane’s Addiction, Beastie Boys, and Kings of Leon.
