Poll: Who Would Play Jeff Buckley The Best?

There’s been talk about doing a biopic on famous singer-songwriter, Jeff Buckley, for some time now. Many screenplays have been rejected and now they’re on attempt #3 for getting it together. Buckley is mostly known for his popular cover of Leonard Cohen’s song, “Hallelujah,” and you can be sure that whoever plays him must have some mad talent.
Who are producers interested in and which actors are more than happy to play the part? There’s James Franco who had taken on the role of Hollywood icon James Dean. There’s James Marsden who has displayed his vocal chops in both Hairspray and Enchanted. Then there’s the “it” boy, Robert Pattinson, who has contributed two acoustic tracks to the Twilight soundtrack. Who do you think would play Jeff Buckley the best? Vote below to let us know!

Honetsly I'm not sure, it's between Franco and Pattinson!
Visually, Franco is almost an exact match, however an interview with Buckley's mother stated that she is asking the actor to sing and not mime. Until I've heard Franco sing I am going to have to say Pattinson, who has a formidable voice.

You got it wrong, Buckley's mom wants to use jeff old pre-recordings as no one can match his voice…. so the actor that gets this role doesn't have too sing. To me, Jared Leto or James Franco is the best choice.
The only reason why R-Crap is even being suggested is because of his fan following.

Well, all three seem like good choices but I voted for Robert Pattinson because he is a talented actor and is very musically inclined. James Franco is very close looks wide though.

Wow, the loser twilight fangirls are hijacking this poll…Robert Pattinson hasn't proven his acting chops yet and to give his big first character role as Jeff Buckley would be risky.
James Franco has proved that he's a more than capable actor and I think he'd do it justice.

James Franco is the one to go.
He has been in the acting buisness much longer than Pattinson and in many more successful movies that actually require talent.
Just because Twilight has an enormous fan base doesn't mean those teenie boppers know what acting is.
Don't get me wrong, I think Rob is an incredible singer. I've heard more than his only two released songs and he has soul with his music but not like Jeff.
I like the idea of them using Jeff's recordings than having them sing, it seems more personal.
James Franco is deffinantly one to cast.

I'm so happy to see that rumors of this film are buzzing again. They were also around in 2006 and died out quickly. I'm looking forward to seeing a movie on the legend and inspirational music of Jeff Buckley.

AMEN!! It's gotta be James Franco. If Pattison gets the role, there will be MANY heartbroken, disappointed, and not to mention pissed off Buckley fans.
